Everyone has a story to tell, so why not tell yours today. March 14th is “National Write Your Story Day” and today’s challenge is to write your story. You may think that you have nothing to say, or your life just isn’t interesting; however, you would be surprised once you put pen to paper or fingers to keyboard what might happen.
It all began when Mitzy Szereto founded “Mitzy TV” inspiring authors and artists to become better individuals. In September 2017, Mitzy, the author and blogger, set out to expose the craziness of London life. As time went on, she encouraged other people to tell their stories.
While this might be an unconventional holiday, people either like it or hate it, they find it either the easiest or hardest to celebrate, and some will embrace it or reject it. Regardless of how you feel, if you just start writing about your life, you will be amazed at how the words just start to flow once you begin to tell your story. Words can encourage and teach something to others as every story has value that can transform someone’s life. Did you know that the experience of writing can also help to shape the future for future journalists? All you need to do is write about a moment in your life at a particular time that made you who you are today. It may be difficult to get started or to write for hours; however, once you set your mind to it, you will be surprised at how the hours melt away and the end result is a beautiful story that is yours to tell. Innovation and ideas are all within us, but sometimes you need inspiration; therefore, here are some ideas to get your creative juices flowing:
- A long journey is interrupted by a disaster
- A shy, young woman unexpectedly bumps into her soulmate
- A talented young man’s deepest fear is holding his life back
- An individual’s life altering decision to attend college
So, what are you waiting for? Get your stories out into the world and see if you can inspire and/or entertain someone. Check out these resources to help get those creative juices going:
