August 10th is National S’mores day! Campfires are fun and good and it doesn’t take much to make s’mores when you have a roaring fire. What happens, though, if you don’t have a fire? Or it’s raining? Or you just have this undying craving for s’mores in the winter? Never fear, there are so many ways to prep your s’mores. Chocolate, graham cracker, and marshmallows can be combined in various ways to include brownies, cake, and even cookies.
The combination of chocolate and marshmallows is, personally, one of the best ways to eat desserts. Whenever I love a treat, I just love finding all of the different ways people make it. Especially adding things I never even thought of – like Reese’s cups or freezing them. They have s’mores cookies, s’mores coffee, and so many options, it’s hard to choose just one.
Recipes to try before tossing your dessert into the fire:
S’mores Frozen Pops – Made from cool whip, chocolate chips, graham crackers, and heavy whipping cream, these frozen pops are a cool treat for hot summer days.
S’mores Donuts – Just replace the Graham crackers with a donut, cut it in half and stick melted marshmallows and chocolate inside of them.
Campfire Cones – chocolate chips, mini marshmallows (try getting rainbow marshmallows for kids to enjoy), and a waffle cone makes this dish. Cover it in tinfoil and let the fire melt it without getting chocolate everywhere.
S’mores Cheesecake bars – no bake cheesecake filling covered in chocolate and topped with toasted marshmallows makes this delectable dish you can enjoy year round!
No-Bake S’mores – Want that gooey melted marshmallow taste without having to worry about heating it up? Just get marshmallow fluff, graham crackers, chocolate and layer them in a pan. Let them freeze for 30 minutes and then break off a piece of that no-bake s’mores bar.
Skinny Frozen S’mores – Made with low fat graham crackers, marshmallow cream, semi sweet chocolate chips, and frozen yogurt – this ice cream bar will make you forget it’s supposed to be healthy.
S’mores Fudge – Fudge is always a great treat for parties and so are s’mores so why not put them together? This dish has a graham cracker crust, chocolate fudge filling, and is topped with marshmallows. Perfect for gifts or parties.
S’mores are such a great treat that it’s impossible to keep the fun for just campfires. These great recipes and more ways, such as replacing chocolate bars with other candy bars, make the possibilities endless. Choose your favorite s’more and share it with your family and friends!
