Get Hooked on Audiobooks

Now that June is here, summer is right around the corner. And during these summer months, many people take family vacations and head out on long road trips. However, these trips may also mean endless hours in the car, listening to impatient children ask if you are there yet every five minutes, all while viewing the less than picturesque corn and bean fields spanning hundreds of miles. Well, what better way to spend those long hours in the car than with an audiobook?!

Just imagine reclining back in your seat as you slide on those sound-blocking headphones, listening to a fascinating story while you close your eyes. You don’t even have to open that book that’s been collecting dust while sitting on your book shelf for months. Instead, you can just relax and let your book take you on a journey to another place while the kids are causing havoc in the back seat.

June is a great time to check out an audiobook since it is Audiobook Month. And, the Bellevue University Library has hundreds of audiobooks to choose from, and we are always adding to the collection. Feel free to search our online catalog, eCatalog, to see which audiobook titles may capture your attention. Also, take a peek at our “Get Caught Listening” Pinterest board which features many audiobook titles found in our collection. If you are ready to try out an audiobook, please stop by and we will gladly direct you to the variety of titles available to you. Audiobooks can be checked out to current students, faculty, staff, and alumni for 21 days and can be renewed once for another 21 days.
