The Freeman/Lozier Library is always changing to keep up with the latest trends and services to offer you our best. Our More Than Books newsletter has a “Did You Know” section that keeps you informed about the changes that have taken place in the library. Here is the latest news from that newsletter:
One way to celebrate the Nebraska Sesquicentennial is to read some works from the Nebraska 150 Books list?
During the fall of 2015, a group of Nebraska educators and librarians devised a list of 150 titles that they felt epitomized the best literature written by Nebraskans or set in Nebraska. The list can be found at http://centerforthebook.nebraska.gov/docs/Nebraska150Books.pdf. The list is divided into four genres: non-fiction, poetry, fiction, and youth/children’s books. The Bellevue University Library owns more than 80 of these titles, and each one can be checked out for three weeks. Patrons are encouraged to include the works from the Nebraska 150 Books list in your summer reading plans!
The Library staff offers free student engagement activities?
At least six times a year, free student engagement activities (a movie, a book club, a craft event, etc.) are scheduled in the Library. Feel free to suggest a particular movie to watch, a book to read and discuss, or a craft you might enjoy. You can place your opinions in the suggestion box or talk to one of the librarians. Let the staff know what you would like to have offered!
When students request headphones at the Circulation desk, the staff now will dispense earbuds?
Students no longer need to check out and return headphones; a set of complimentary earbuds will be given to those who request them.
